What to do in Hamburg Today?

Things to do in Hamburg below

Hamburg – Germany officially known as the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It is the second largest city in Germany, a bit like the UK’s Birmingham but prettier. The city lies on the Elbe River (hence Elb Jazz which I will mention later).

What to do in Hamburg for a day? – see below

It’s a beautiful and reasonably peaceful city, I’d say it’s almost the Bath of Germany. There are many interesting buildings to see and cool cafes and bars. There are also buildings still displayed with ‘F’ Block or ‘D’ Block which I think may be from WW2.

Hamburg attractions

I went there for a Jazz Festival with my girlfriend at the time. I’d defiantly recommend it for a city break with a twist! The festival was in a port, pictures to follow! This is one of the Top Things to do in Hamburg for young adults.

These are the types of cool streets and bars you can find!

Its hard work finding yourself to the port where the festival was, Elb Jazz. To get there we eventually found that you need to take a tunnel under the sea rather than a boat over it. The tunnel was pretty cool so kind glad.

There’s some cool graffiti about as well so keep an eye out!

Elb Jazz is a pretty cool little festival to be honest so I would say its worth going for that.

When I was there they had an old submarine you could go in at the docks, would be worth seeing if its still there.

Cool architecture

Hamburg’s architecture draws mainly on its maritime tradition. The warehouse district of the Speicherstadt is brilliant and the Dockland Office Building and the Elbberg Campus is equally beautiful.

The under passage for the docks had lifts which I could only guess used to be for moving equipment like tanks to the dockyard years ago.
